Updated - After the Fall of the Western Roman Empire, "barbarians" divided up western Europe and a new political structure began...modern Europe. However, many twist and turns will occur before that happens. The historical period that comes after the collapse of the Roman Empire in the West is, in the middle, between the classical periods of Greece and Rome and the Modern period. It is this Middle Age, Medieval in Latin, running from c.476-c.1453, that will be our next unit.
